Job Description:NOS 4411
• Supervise and care for children in employer's or own residence
• Bathe, dress and feed infants and children • Prepare formulas and change diapers for infants
• Plan, prepare and serve meals for children and may perform other housekeeping duties
• Oversee children's activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Instruct children in personal hygiene
• Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
• Take children to and from school and appointments
• May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding each child. Foster parents
• Care for foster children, usually on an emergency or temporary basis, as a primary guardian under general direction of foster parent agency
• Consult foster parent agency supervisors for advice and when problems arise
• Administer foster care programs for foster children, as directed by foster parent agency social workers.
NOS 4412
Provides non-medical companionship and personal care for clients who need assistance in caring for themselves in their own homes, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, etc. Depending on the client’s needs, the following responsibilities may be assigned and may change as the client’s needs change:
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, which includes bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and transferring.
• Prepare meals following clients prescribed dietary restrictions and the Balanced Care Method.
• Change bed linens, wash and iron laundry, and clean clients’ homes (no more than 20% of time).
• Conduct basic errands, such as grocery shopping.
• Provide companionship to clients in a caring manner.
• Incorporate aspects of the Balanced Care Method into the clients’ care (e.g., go for a walk, visit the local senior centre, play a board game).
• Provide transportation services.
• Maintain a detailed record of services provided and clients’ current conditions.
• Record the start and stop of all your working time for every shift utilizing our telephony system and/or Time Log for Non-Visit Working Time.
• Alert your Care Manager and Staffing Coordinator about major changes or incidents during your shift.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Manual.
• Maintain your working schedule and alert your manager of any planned absence.
• Provide adequate notice for time off as set forth in the Employee Manual.
• Complete all required HCA University course work. • Perform other care-related duties as assigned by your supervisors. -
